UK’s first small nuclear power station to be built in north Wales

A hugely positive day for Wales’ nuclear future!

We’re delighted to see Wylfa confirmed as a leading site for the UK’s next-generation Rolls-Royce SMR nuclear programme. This announcement brings real momentum for the Wales based nuclear supply chain and for those coming to locate and invest in Wales and of course importantly for the community of Ynys Môn and wider Wales.

On behalf of the Wales Nuclear Forum (WNF), we look forward to working closely with our member businesses, local and regional partners, Nuclear Industry Association (NIA) and the wider nuclear industry to turn potential into real jobs, real investment and real benefits for Wales.

Clarity around programme timing and Wales supply chain participation will be key — and the WNF will champion these priorities every step of the way. We’re excited for what’s ahead for Wales and our members!
