Julian Vance-Daniel is the Managing Director and founder of Vessco Engineering Limited, a family run business which designs and manufactures pressure vessels and specialist fabrications. Vessco is currently working with three Tier One organisations at Hinkley Point C, including the manufacture of two deaerator feedwater tanks – each of which weighs 330 tonnes and measure 5m diameter by 55m long.
Vessco is supplying experimental pressure equipment and advisory services for the Bangor University Nuclear Futures Institute, for which Julian has been awarded an honorary research fellowship. Recently Julian has been working on some corrosion monitoring chambers, resulting in a major new order for Vessco. These are destined for the world’s largest nuclear fusion experimental facility, ITER, in Southern France.
