Message from the UKIBC Chair: CALL FOR SUPPORT FOR INDIA TO TACKLE COVID-19 SECOND WAVE

Due to the concern of the second Covid-19 wave in India, the Royal Academy of Engineering has spoken with the UK High Commission in New Delhi who have provided some links through which engineers can provide support to India.

The UK India Business Council has been asked by both governments to see if there are supplies or support that the business community in the UK can provide to alleviate the situation in India.

It is specifically looking for:
·       Empty, refillable Oxygen cylinders with 10 litres and 45 litres LMO capacity;
·       Oxygen concentrators;
·       In situ oxygen manufacturing plants for hospitals;
·       The anti-viral medication Remdesivir.

However, it is also appealing for any other items, services or support the UK business community can provide. Please write to covidsupport@ukibc.com if you can help. More information is available here: https://lnkd.in/d6esSkV

Dear Friend,

The British Prime Minister is currently looking at the support the UK Government will offer India during the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. India provided welcome support for the UK in 2020, so it is only appropriate that the UK does all that it can this year to help one of our closest partners.

Of course, when governments and business work together there is always a greater chance of success. That was true in 2020, and it will be true in 2021.

To that end, the UKIBC has been asked by both Governments to engage with businesses to find out if there are any supplies or support you may be able to provide to alleviate the challenging situation in India.

The specific requirement is for:

(i) Empty, refillable Oxygen cylinders with 10 litres and 45 litres LMO capacity;
(ii) Oxygen concentrators;
(iii) in situ oxygen manufacturing plants for hospitals; and
(iv) RAMDESIVIR

If there are other items, services or support you, your supply chain or wider network can provide, please let us know that too.

If you can supply any of the above or help in any other way, please let us know how by writing to covidsupport@ukibc.com.

Thank you so much in advance.
