WNF is pleased to announce its new partnership with EU funded ASTUTE 2020 (Advanced Sustainable Manufacturing Technologies) operation, supporting manufacturing companies across Wales, has been part funded by the European Regional Development Fund, through Welsh Government.
ASTUTE 2020 is working with the manufacturing industry across Wales to support industrial Research Development and Innovation through world-class academics and a team of highly qualified technical experts and project managers.
The EU-backed multi-university partnership enables greater levels of business innovation in future manufacturing technologies. ASTUTE 2020 is supporting industry by applying advanced engineering knowledge to manufacturing challenges by strengthening knowledge and expertise to create higher value goods and services and improve efficiency, aiming to drive productivity and growth within the industry.
Swansea University is leading the £22.7million ASTUTE 2020 operation with a team of technical experts based in the College of Engineering. Swansea University is in partnership with Cardiff University, Aberystwyth University, University of South Wales and the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
The ASTUTE 2020 team will focus its resources on working closely with industry to provide support in areas that offer the best economic opportunities for the manufacturing industry across Wales to improve the prosperity of the region.
