Nuclear Bursary Open

Are YOU looking to enter or further develop your career in nuclear?

The Nuclear Bursary provides financial support to individuals for education and training opportunities to help with starting or furthering their professional career in nuclear.

The generous Nuclear Bursary is being offered through the collaboration of NSAN, NDA and ECITB to help address the UK nuclear skills challenges.

These bursaries are for individuals working in, or aspiring to work within NSAN & ECITB member supply chain companies (primarily aimed at Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) companies) working in, or aspiring to work in, the Nuclear sector.

The bursary can be used to support individuals working in the sector, on placements, internships, secondments and on programmes of study or training relevant to the nuclear industry with a particular emphasis on Nuclear Professionalism.

ASME for Nuclear Indoctrination
This workshop will introduce the ASME III (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) nuclear design and construction code and explain how the code will be applied in the UK.

Cyber & Information Security for Individuals
This half-day workshop will contextualise cyber security for individuals. It will introduce cyber security attack methods and what strategies individuals can use to protect themselves at home and at work.

Cyber & Information Security for Organisations
This half-day workshop will contextualise cyber security for organisations and will introduce the legal and regulatory requirements relevant to the industry. It will discuss strategies and activities organisations can undertake to reduce cyber risk.

Knowledge Management
The course has been constructed for anyone working in the nuclear sector and its supply chain seeking to increase their awareness of knowledge management principles and method and international developments of benefit to the UK.

Process Safety Leadership
PSL is a one day course specifically designed for Senior Executives and Board Members of major hazard facilities, who are ultimately responsible for developing a strong process safety culture within their organisation, and who need to make key business decisions that have an impact on process safety.

Process Safety Management Foundations
The PSMF course provides the fundamental knowledge and understanding of the principles of process safety management across the entire organisation.

Process Safety Management for Operations – Licensed and External Delivery
The PSMO course has been designed to focus on what really matters to you and your operations staff. Participants will focus on site specific hazards and control measures as they apply to them, and demonstrate how they contribute to keeping the process safe. There are two options available for delivery that meet with the requirements of the Process Safety Management for Operations training standard.

TBN Leadership
The Triple Bar Nuclear Leadership (TBNL) is a two-day programme that looks at what is different about supplying to the nuclear sector, and it applies whether that is for new build, supporting existing facilities or decommissioning activities.

TBN Manufacturing
This course provides manufacturers with a basic introduction to nuclear industry expectations in terms of knowledge, quality and behaviours.

The Dinner is a collaborative event organised by NSAN and Cogent Skills.  The UK Nuclear Skills Awards is also the perfect evening to promote your organisation – sponsorships are available.
